- if the sending modem has its port rate at 38.4, then you wouldnt be
- getting any extra benefit from a faster serial rate. unless your
- downloading huge ascii files, the extra serial rate wont give you
- extra v.42bis compression. v.42bis compression isnt that hot anyway
- pkzip and arj blow it out of the water on a daily basis. why dont
- you quote some magazine articles that compare mnp 5 to v.42bis to
- regular pkzip? there was a good one in pc magazine a few years back
